This is an easy piece of music for a beginner string orchestra to play. There are three different 'cello and three different violin parts so that a range of abilities can be catered for. In the group this was originally written for, the most able players were around Grade 1 standard and the least able had only been playing for a few months. The piece has a hymn - like quality and should be played at an appropriate, easy - going tempo.
Although there isn't a part written for viola, one of the violin parts could easily be re- written in alto clef since none of them use the e string.
